Behind the look – UFL Feature

Hey guys! So I recently had the opportunity of working with head photographer for @72_photography who also has an online magazine called Urban Fashion Lifestyle which he runs with a great team. UFL is an online magazine which truly reflects South African style. With topics ranging from street style to trending looks, conversations with style experts and coverage at fashion weeks, UFL is definitely making moves in the fashion industry. I also genuinely enjoy the platform they afford models to share their “come up” stories. An extension of UFL which is my personal favorite is their YouTube channel. I’ve always connected better to articles with great visuals and personality behind each article, and their YouTube channel offers just that! They have featured quite a few of my personal favorite SA Stylista’s with an interesting take on fashion and creatively allowing for each Stylista to represent themselves and their personal style…

Still on style and fashion trends, I’ve decided to share My personal favourite accessories which have closed off the year 2016 and should take 2017 by an even bigger storm. Some may argue that shoes don’t make the cut to be called accessories and are simply an item of clothing, so each to their own on this one. PVC I’ve been about this PVC trend for a while now. PLUM is a fashion brand that has been supplying South Africa for over 15 years with unique fashion forward footwear. They pride themselves on outstanding quality and the latest international trends adapted to the South African market. I had the opportunity to pick a few pairs to try out. As I step into summer I had to throw in a pair that’s BOLD in color. However, I couldn’t resist selecting some tan shades as you can pull them off with basically every outfit. My favorite staple that everyone should have in their shoe collection, The PLUM Alexis Court Heel. I must admit I was quite torn between choosing black or going bananas with the yellow, I did however end up going with the Fuchsia. Chic Summer

We’ve seen a lot of clothing color preference change with each season change. However, it’s the primary colors which have been staples regardless of season. Some of us may have forgotten our primary school teaching of what primary colors are, so let’s refresh. Any of a group of colours from which all other colours can be obtained by mixing. The primary colors are respectively Red, Blue and yellow. All other colors of the rainbow are a combination of these primary colors. Season in, season out, these colors have remained a large part of everyones wardrobe – young and old. Primary colors are chic and fun to play around with whether worn alone as staple as or within a splash of other colors. So go on and have yourself a colorful summer!

This season for me is something really special. I have made the conscious decision of being bold about everything I do, even in my quite moments.   I put together this look not only with BOLD in mind in its physical appearance but how this look made me feel too. One of the fashion trends which have had a well deserved resurrection is undoubtedly the mommy jean.  After dying out of the fashion scene 20 years ago, their comeback has been one of the strongest and most consistent I have ever seen.
