Hey lovers, I don’t know about you, but my skin has been going through the absolute most as we get closer to the winter season. It’s been  dryer than usual, leaving me with the most uncomfortable feeling through the day. Just as I was voicing my skin  frustrations online and how I would be masking that very evening, I received a lovely gift at my doorstep from NIVEA South Africa that I thought I should tell you more about. As some of you may know, NIVEA was the very first brand I tried out  when I decided to officially jump on a solid skin routine. Not only is it affordable, it is widely accessible and has various ranges that addresses skin concerns specific to the South African climate.  In this never ending journey of figuring out my skin routine, I’ve had the opportunity to try out quite a few of…

Last week Thursday, the 24th of October, I had the pleasure of joining in the festivities with Browns as they launched their newest collection and announced their Alpha Woman Competition. Held at the beautiful Summer Place in Hyde Park, the evening was a magical affair filled with glamour and luxury. Upon arrival, we were given a very warm welcome by Mr Larry Brown himself, who many of you may know is the co-owner of Browns. Mr Larry Brown took over the Browns business in the early 1980’s and has since built Brown’s into a brand known for it’s exceptional quality, incredible customer service and of course the most exquisite designs. With the very first Browns store opening as far back as 1934 in Fox Street, downtown Johannesburg, Brown’s has seen incredible growth and now has stores in various parts of South Africa, as well as in London. As the evening…

MUA, RAINE TAUBER, TALKS AFRICAN FASHION WEEK MAKEUP TRENDS WITH AVON African Fashion International (AFI) Fashion Week kicks off on Thursday, 10 October, at the Sandton Convention Centre with over 30 designers showcasing their Autumn/Winter 2020 collections. When thinking about the runway, it is impossible not to marry new design collections with trendy and seasonal makeup looks. In preparation for AFI, Avon – the makeup sponsor for LMDA Beauty Ateliers at AFI 2019 – spoke with Director Raine Tauber about the makeup looks guests can expect to see on the runway. 1. It’s not always about dewy and glowing skin When it comes to Autumn/Winter makeup, we’re expecting natural looks that don’t focus too much on the glow of one’s face. During AFI, we’ll be using matte textures more strategically to ensure there is no unwanted shine. Expect to see an element of the rawness where imperfections are allowed to…

https://www.instagram.com/p/B21d5AzAZqB/ Hey lovers, This one’s for all the beauty lovers, who like me, want a reliable product that you can start bold with, and stay bold in all day! A product that is comfortable and lightweight, so much so that you even forget you have something on. I recently tried out the Avon True Power Stay Long-wear make-up range and was definitely impressed! I usually have a problem with most matte lipsticks, they often leave my lips feeling dry and cracky. This wasn’t the case with the Avon True Power Stay 16 Hour Lip Color. My lips didn’t crack, and the lip color sat comfortably all through the day. I’m such a coffee lover, and I just can’t compromise on getting my love in a cup first thing in the morning! I was pleased to see that my Power Stay Lip Color didn’t stain my mug or alter in pigment…

Hey lovers! Just yesterday, I had the exciting opportunity to be part of the exclusive reveal of the Advanced Génifique serum. The informative press event held at the L’Oréal South Africa Head Offices was led by Namate Moyo [ Marketing Manager for Lancôme ] , Ashley Fernandes [ National Education, Retail & Services Manager, L’Oreal Luxe ] and Dr Heidi [ Advanced Research Manager Sub-Saharan Africa at L’Oréal ] I must say, the best thing about this session was having Dr Heidi in the room. Dr Heidi’s portfolio covers South Sub Saharan Africa, which includes raw portfolio ingredient and technology support towards skin and hair. She is also in charge of the incubator and the open innovation L’Oréal does within her region. She did a great job at helping us understand all the scientific terms and how the skin works beyond what meets the eye. Now back to the product.…
