Gone are the days where I shy away from bright and bold statement pieces. Instead, I’ve now learnt how to embrace them, work them MY way and pair them with staple pieces in my wardrobe to fit my personal style.
I just want to journey with you through some of my looks for the H&M AW18 Campaign we shot in the mother city, Cape Town. As you may know, H&M’s new autumn/winter 18 collection is all about delicate dark florals, chunky knits and this season’s hottest denim looks.
What I wore:
My first look is very true to my personal style. Romantic, chic with a bit of an edge. I absolutely fell in love with this black faux fur at first sight. This floral blouse adds a romantic touch to the overall look and perfectly serves my aestethic and need to keep warm this season.
My second look is definitely something you can catch me in when out and about with the girls for lunch. FYI: One of my favorite features on my body so to speak is my collar bones *eek*. You can only imagine just how much I was gushing over this floral off-the-shoulder jacquard-weave blouse. It looks, feels and FITS perfectly. Paired with my favorite denims or trousers, chic comfort pieces add the perfect touch to my look.
My final look took quite some time to figure out. It was a toss up between wearing this fringe top with a matching skirt or tone things down with a pair of denims or trousers. As you can tell, I opted for trousers. However, for an evening look I would have gone for two-piece vibes with a belt to accentuate my waist and just piece the outfit together well. A play on different textures definitely gets a nod from me and my wardrobe this season.
Although not part of my AW18 Campaign looks, I have to touch on how animal print can’t be denied as one of the hottest and powerful print this season. I’ve seen an amazing must have in store which is not only a striking piece to own, but it’s equally comfortable and warm.
Throughout the years, knitwear has remained a necessity for ones winter wardrobe. And what I love the most about the transformation of knits is how the designs each year always align with the seasons trends. From chunky necklines to color blocking and the attention to detail which goes into the stitching. This off white chunky knit is from the H&M Studio AW17
