Introducing this year’s iteration of the Brooklyn Mall Face of Fashion search, the exclusive competition in South Africa dedicated to discovering new models, Lucilla Booyzen, the director of South African Fashion Week (SAFW), emphasizes that top models possess an undeniable “IT factor.” This factor enables the camera or the runway to capture a distinctive spirit that radiates and illuminates the world.
I believe this is a great opportunity for aspiring models who want to establish a career in modeling, sharpen their model etiquette by working with one of the best modeling agencies in the country, as well as explore the opportunity of strutting the runway at SAFW.
Since its establishment in 2019, the competition, which garnered an unprecedented seven hundred online entries in 2022, has propelled exceptional new talents into the spotlight, both locally and internationally.
It is a quality that can make a brand come alive or inspire a designer’s creative vision. It is an inner vitality that is much more compelling than physical good looks.
Models are key when it comes to the marketing of fashion. Without the models there will be no shows, fashion spreads, media coverage and none of the exceptional social media buzz generated about the new designer collections – Lucille Booyzen.
