Hey Lovers! I’m sure you all know by now just how much I love it when big retailers play a part in either giving back to society or of course playing their part in reducing waste that goes out into the environment. Through the Garment Collecting initiative, H&M is doing just that! H&M South Africa has been taking the necessary steps to ensure they play their role at fulfilling the goals they’ve set out towards a more sustainable fashion future. Through their partnership with Clothes For Good, a local social enterprise based in Pretoria, H&M touches on upcycling and recycling, two of the many ways to fulfilling their goals towards a more sustainable fashion future. For me, it’s definitely being a fashion recycler and the overall inclusion that this initiative encompasses! How it works: Step 1: Clothes to Good will collect customers’ recycled garments from the H&M Distribution Center Step…
Over the past few years, there has been a great amount of conversation in the world of fashion around the manufacture of environmentally – conscious clothing. From the materials used, all the way to the production process, consumers are demanding a way forward that will be kinder to the environment . And with that being said, much pressure has been placed more especially on fast fashion retailers such as H&M to do better. H&M has continued to show its commitment to a more sustainable fashion future through its Conscious Collection. The latest AW20 Conscious Collection officially dropped yesterday, Thursday the 5th of March in all South African stores. One thing I particularly enjoy about this collection is that it makes sustainable fashion available to consumers at varying price points, which hasn’t been the norm in the world of fashion. The dress I’m wearing below for example retails at R329.00 which…
Hey lovers! My Wednesday morning started off on a great note as I prepared myself for a lovely mid day out with H&M, for the preview of their SS 19 Studio Collection. The venue for the preview was the ever so tranquil Beechwood Gardens, which I had never been to before. I had a bit of a last minute panic about what to wear, but having seen some of the local and international fashionistas posts sporting the current Studio Collection, I cooked up the perfect outfit for the day. I absolutely love how well the SA H&M team manages to get it right ALL the time. Their attention to detail and securing the perfect locations is everything. It allows us as the consumers to tap into the world and energy they have envisioned for each particular collection. It’s an entire EXPERIENCE! Inspired by “The Glam Explorer,” the H&M Studio collection…
Gone are the days where I shy away from bright and bold statement pieces. Instead, I’ve now learnt how to embrace them, work them MY way and pair them with staple pieces in my wardrobe to fit my personal style. I just want to journey with you through some of my looks for the H&M AW18 Campaign we shot in the mother city, Cape Town. As you may know, H&M’s new autumn/winter 18 collection is all about delicate dark florals, chunky knits and this season’s hottest denim looks. What I wore: My first look is very true to my personal style. Romantic, chic with a bit of an edge. I absolutely fell in love with this black faux fur at first sight. This floral blouse adds a romantic touch to the overall look and perfectly serves my aestethic and need to keep warm this season. My second look is definitely…
Full of narratives memories and stories, ERDEM x H&M is a deeply personal collection that looks back to the designer’s youth, and to the codes that have defined his work over the past decade. It’s about the romantic dresses he saw in English films, his father’s coat that his mother draped over her shoulders, or the cool style of 90s TV and music videos. To create ERDEM x H&M, he imagined the dream English countryside getaway, mixing gowns with tailoring, functionality with drama, as different generations and backgrounds interpret the wardrobe with each individuals own style. Each piece is designed exclusively for H&M, and will be available in around 220 stores worldwide, as well as on hm.com, from November 2. KEY THEMES Exquisite statement pieces Erdem’s fans cherish his designs forever, and ERDEM x H&M is overflowing with special pieces that will become like heirlooms. A sleeveless ball gown of…
Hey guys! So I had the lovely opportunity to attend an exclusive preview the new Studio Collection at the H&M showroom in Cape Town.
