It always feels great stepping into a new year. But it feels even greater once you’ve actually had time to reflect on the year that has been.
“If you want to move forward often look back, otherwise you’ll forget where you came from and where you need to go”
The above quote slips right into my list of unpopular opinions. “Never look back” is usually the advice people give, and yet I believe otherwise. Reflecting on my young journey is part of my motivation, and the lessons I’ve learnt along the way have been unmatched. Reflecting has also helped me determine how far or near I am to where I want to be. It’s helped me re consider, switch up on my strategies but most of all it’s helped me remain faithful and confident even in my darkest hours.
I’m sure we’ve all bumped into words of encouragement for the new year on social media, but what have you done in your own capacity to declare and decree your hearts desires for the new year. Much emphasis is placed on vision board and writing things down, even in the Bible [ Habakkuk 2:2-3 ] My sister has been doing this for years now. Me on the other hand…. let’s just say I’m not such a crafty individual, so I’m quite grateful for the apps available to us these days. I downloaded HayHouseVB and it’s been excellent at helping me put together my vision board. No more excuses, I’ve finally made my vision board – I encourage you to do so too. Don’t forget to take the time to meditate on your vision board. Before I wrap this post up, I simply can’t move forward without touching on the relationships we keep. Be it business relationship, romantic relationship, friendships… the list goes on. It’s important to know what centers your relationships, because it’s those very centers, those very roots which determine the fruit of your relationships. And these very fruits will either add or take away from all you’re working hard to build.
Wishing you all a great 2018. May love and peace fill your hearts and homes. May all your dreams and visions for your life come to fruition.
…now let’s work! 😉
