H&M South Africa has partnered with Clothes 2 Good, a social enterprise which recycles pre-loved clothing as a means of creating micro-business opportunities, employment and job readiness/skills training for the vulnerable community sector. As a leader in sustainable fashion, H&M’s partnership with Clothes 2 Good is a true reflection of their commitment to #sustainablefashion. Through the Micro-business Programme, H&M South Africa drives meaningful and long-lasting impact across the entire fashion value chain, which in turn also supports Clothes 2 Good in creating sustainable livelihoods for low-income communities, with particular focus on people with disabilities and their families. This collaboration takes a holistic approach which speaks to the conscious efforts H&M has been taking to play their part in a more sustainable approach to fashion. From fabric selection right through to production, sustainability is central to this collaborations design. WHAT FABRICS HAVE BEEN USED? Through the Garment Collecting initiative, H&M is doing just that! H&M South Africa has been taking the necessary steps to ensure they play their role at fulfilling the goals they’ve set out towards a more sustainable fashion future. Through their partnership with Clothes For Good, a local social enterprise based in Pretoria, H&M touches on upcycling and recycling, two of the many ways to fulfilling their goals towards a more sustainable fashion future. For me, it’s definitely being a fashion recycler and the overall inclusion that this initiative encompasses! How it works: Step 1: Clothes to Good will collect customers’ recycled garments from the H&M Distribution Center Step…
