Over the past few years, there has been a great amount of conversation in the world of fashion around the manufacture of environmentally – conscious clothing. From the materials used, all the way to the production process, consumers are demanding a way forward that will be kinder to the environment . And with that being said, much pressure has been placed more especially on fast fashion retailers such as H&M to do better. H&M has continued to show its commitment to a more sustainable fashion future through its Conscious Collection. The latest AW20 Conscious Collection officially dropped yesterday, Thursday the 5th of March in all South African stores. One thing I particularly enjoy about this collection is that it makes sustainable fashion available to consumers at varying price points, which hasn’t been the norm in the world of fashion. The dress I’m wearing below for example retails at R329.00 which…

Some of you may be in the loop with the news on one of the most exciting collaborations to come about in fashion, the MOSCHINO [tv] H&M collection which was showcase at New York Fashion Week a couple of weeks ago.  At the sight of this collection “GLAM,  SASS, POP-CULTURE” were the first words which came to mind. For those who missed the big news, I’ve got you covered! At NYFW, H&M and MOSCHINO’s Creative Director Jeremy Scott had an audience boasting some of the biggest celebrities, influencers and international editors. As if that wasn’t enough, the catwalk was a star studded affair! Throughout this post I’ve shared with you images from the big night, not only to show you some of the big names who walked the runway, but to also share with you some of my favorite looks from the collection. From the Hadid Siblings to the OG…

I took to Wikipedia for a clearer phrasing for what sustainable fashion is, and what it means for the environment. Sustainable fashion, also called eco fashion, is a part of the growing design philosophy and trend of sustainability, the goal of which is to create a system which can be supported indefinitely in terms of human impact on the environment and social responsibility. I believe it’s important that we continue to have conversations around sustainable methods of production in all industries and impose laws to help enforce better practices. To see a brand as big as H&M begin to join the movement is very impressive, especially considering their standing in influence in the industry of fashion. H&M Conscious Exclusive 2018 brings together powerful femininity and sustainable fashion innovation with recycled silver and ECONYL®. They’ve combined the latest in sustainable fabric innovation with designs inspired by the creative home of the…

If there’s one thing I love to accessorize with it’s a great pair of sunnies. They’re basically the statement maker to any look you’re trying to achieve. Plus, we survive some days of the week with Coffee and sunglasses right?! My selection is very often the blacks and other neutral tones. However, with this outfit in mind, I decided to throw on a pair of Gucci shades. These babies have the right amount of tint on the lenses, enough for me to still remain in my safe zone as well as remain “accessible” to those I’m engaging with. As you can tell, this is definitely a lunch with the girls kind of outfit – the perfect day time look. I purchased the top from The Fix, under their newly launched New Lust Haves campaign. Everything is quite “Eastern dreamy” from this range. With pieces ranging from luxe kimonos, embroidery denim,…

I’ve never been brave enough to wrap myself up head to toe in such a daring color! However, for the color series, Junia Tsekiso (creative director for this shoot) had me well out of my comfort zone.Of all the looks we played around with, this one in particular is definitely my top favorite! I loved the fact that we were playing around with denim, and not just any basic denim denim. The sleeves of the jacket add much character to the overall look which makes this outfit particularly a great pick when you want to go for an effortless look. I wore both the top and pants for this combo, but if it’s all too overwhelming for you, you can wear the pieces separately. Look, I’m saying why not go on and be BOLD for a change. Summer is knocking at the door and red is definitely top of the list…
