It’s that time of the year once again where it starts getting a bit more chilly and the coats and jackets come out to play. Personally , Autumn and Winter are my favorite seasons because of the fashion . For now , having not fully stepped into the Winter season ( Esp. Durban ) , it’s always worked out best to have a light coat / jacket to throw over when the weather switches up on you. Something light which also doesn’t kill your outfit. So I have decided to share with you images of me taken not so long ago in a few coats which really won me over.
The Monday blues is what they’re called but I sure am one to experience Friday Blues , where the weekend seems so far but yet so close and you just can’t wait for the working day to end. This is a feeling surely experienced by every single one of us as we reminisce on the memories made from our past weekend looking forward to the wonderful adventures of the one to come. This look is perfect at depicting that lazy effortless “Friday Blues ” mood for your day to day movements on campus or in the office . A pair of sandals or preferred style of high heels carry this image well for the office , or if you’re on campus just throw on some flats ( not pumps – pleaaaaaase !! ) . The shirt offers the button up option but we opted for the unbuttoned look which gives a softer touch to…
Here are a few fashion must haves all chosen from The Fix Autumn catalogue . Jacket/ throw over : As it starts getting a bit chilly a good jacket / throw over will save your day. Autumn doesn’t mean be grumpy with your fashion ! It’s all about how you style up what you have in your wardrobe with a unique piece. Tassels are clearly still highly relevant in fashion & I totally love them , so this Fringe suede gilet is a win for those breezy days when you don’t want to over do it with a huge jacket. A fallaway jacket is another fashion favorite of mine . It’s really easy going and not too serious worn with a Tee and a pair of good jeans .
Thursday 17 March I had the amazing opportunity to be one of the very first fashion addicts to get my fix from “The Fix “. The new kid on the block under the Foschini group brings you a fresh urban look which houses a variety of fashion desirables for ladies. From shoes, bags to amazing pieces as well as jewellery to add an extra touch to your entire look. We visited The Fix at Canal Walk, Cape Town .Upon arrival we were warmly welcomed with drinks and real life mannequins which added such a unique and tangible experience to who “The Fix lady ” is. The ambiance was great as we had our VIP shopping experience with stolen dance moments in between thanks to the lovely jams being played by DJ TinyT. There were also pizza bites and sweet treats floating around, being served by ladies dressed by The Fix. Because no one wants…
This particular outfit was inspired by my desire to keep it cute but always have a little bit of cheeky this summer. I absolutely love the zip detail on the top as opposed to having buttons or having it completely shit . The shoes were also such an add of flavor to the outfit. Not quite the pair of Addidas shoes you get to see often. I also thought belt or no belt ? The belt option won me over because of the cute bow I just couldn’t resist. Top : Mind Over Matter Belt : Legit Shorts : Mr Price Shoes : Addidas
Why not find a large red door and start shooting , right ?! Aside from the wind trying to kill the fun , shooting this look was so much fun ! The moment I put this dress on It spoke to me the beautiful language of summer . I enjoy showing my collar bones and this wide neck did this so perfectly for me yet still not being over revealing . I often struggle with dresses because of my small waist . The zip detail on the side made sure the dress fit super snug for my waist and so that problem was instantly solved. Look , what’s not to love about this dress ? Dress it up for dinner with a pair of stilettos or dress it down by throwing on some suede boots as I have and a suede black hat for that pop of black from the dress.…
Since way back when, I have always loved fashion and what people call styling. When I was a little girl , finding material and sewing ( yes with a needle – rather dangerous ) clothes for my Barbie was my favourite pastime because I simply couldn’t stand my Barbie wearing the same clothes everyday . I mean, I even made underwear for her!! I grew up with the most stylish ” big sister” whom I have since decided to work with at putting together some cool looks. She goes by the name of Ndumi Matiwane and owns a store at 8 Morrison (Shop 11) called Mind over Matter. Our personal styles are quite different but I have been able to find my personal style somewhere in there because of how laid back the clothes are. I’m all about a laid back look which when worn in confidence transforms to something…
