Why not find a large red door and start shooting , right ?! Aside from the wind trying to kill the fun , shooting this look was so much fun ! The moment I put this dress on It spoke to me the beautiful language of summer . I enjoy showing my collar bones and this wide neck did this so perfectly for me yet still not being over revealing . I often struggle with dresses because of my small waist . The zip detail on the side made sure the dress fit super snug for my waist  and so that problem was instantly solved. Look , what’s not to love about this dress ? Dress it up for dinner with a pair of stilettos or dress it down by throwing on some suede boots as I have and a suede black hat for that pop of black from the dress.…

Since way back when, I have always loved fashion and what people call styling. When I was a little girl , finding material and sewing ( yes with a needle – rather dangerous )  clothes for my Barbie was my favourite pastime because I simply couldn’t stand my Barbie wearing the same clothes everyday . I mean, I even made underwear for her!! I grew up with the most stylish ” big sister” whom I have since decided to work with at putting together some cool looks. She goes by the name of Ndumi Matiwane and owns a store at 8 Morrison (Shop 11) called Mind over Matter. Our personal styles are quite different but I have been able to find my personal style somewhere in there because of how laid back the clothes are. I’m all about a laid back look which when worn in confidence transforms to something…

For my curvy frame, my number one priority when selecting a piece to wear is to ensure that it  highlights but not exaggerate my curves , as well as be able to provide enough support , cleavage and cover up in all the right areas. I tried on this monochrome monokini which instantly gave me a sexy look but still kept everything tidy and classy for me. The padded push-up effect of this particular piece offered extra lift , while the detachable straps were perfect for the halter effect which creates good cleavage . The white detail may simply be pretty detail for some , but I realised the contouring effect that it had on how my African booty looked. It made for the perfect amount of curve enhancement in all the right places. This is definitely a piece I felt comfortable prancing around in all day .

My current and long standing obsession over tassels and pleather won me over with this look . Another trendy must have piece in one’s wardrobe is a lace up top or lace up anything for that matter. From pumps to swimwear and recently peeped lace up shorts. Can’t wait to get my hands on lace up shorts and actually experience how comfortable or perhaps how uncomfortable and impracticable they may be for me  .

I had such a lovely time working with this talented team. What was most appealing for me was the way in which this shoot was handled. Firstly , Zinhle and I were given the opportunity to freely express ourselves by choosing our own outfits and we worked from there . Because we were comfortable and felt well represented as individuals in what we were putting out , we were very open to taking direction from Zuki and Jarred to achieving the bigger picture. I find that this approach is very important as well in the office space. Our opinion mattered in this shoot and so it should too in the office . Everyone’s input is valid and holds potential to be the groundbreaking solution . Instilling in others the capacity to go dig deeper and stretch their minds is what true leadership is about. Power over a project should be…
