As promised in my last blog post, I’ve written up on the hand and nail care products I’ve had the pleasure of trying out by LCN. I wasn’t interested in any products which would complicate my life and demand a lot of my time so these products were quite perfect to experiment with. Below I will take you through what I’ve learnt about each product as well as how effective it was for my hand and nail care routine I have established. THE FUTURE OF BEAUTY The LCN line has expanded to include natural nail, hand, foot, make-up, spa, micro blading and eyelash products. Every LCN beauty product remains the result of careful research, educated industry professionals, and a flawless eye for the future of beauty and fashion. As women, I’ve noted through conversations that our biggest concerns when it comes to our skin is how tired it looks, fine lines and wrinkles. Personally, my biggest worry in addition to the previously mentioned concerns is whether or not my skin will co-operate the next morning, and the uncertainty always has me on edge. What if I have a big meeting, a shoot or casting first thing in the morning? I needed to find a product which would guarantee my skin wouldn’t look dull, but instead, full of life. Over the years I have also been hearing a lot more chat around the importance of using a night cream, in addition to using a day cream. That is why I thought I’d try out the new NIVEA Q10plusC Anti-Wrinkle + Energy series. Why NIVEA Q10plusC Anti-Wrinkle + Energy face care? The NIVEA Q10plusC Anti-Wrinkle + Energy skin care range is said to be highly effective. For…
It’s always encouraging to see that someone still sees value in doing the important work of building a nation of intelligent, business savvy youth. A week ago I came across a program which is doing exactly this! Yes, Instagram and all other social media platforms are in many ways a tool to reaching your desired audience – it’s not JUST Instagram. Having obtained a degree for a Bcom in Marketing Management and Supply Chain Management, it was a no brainer for me to want to enter into the world of entrepreneurship. However, it’s not as easy as it seems. There is a large gap which needs to be bridged after one studies and as one enters into the reality of what it actually takes to make it in such a cut throat environment. Now to introduce to you Threads, the Business of Fashion accelerator program, sponsored by Standard Bank in association with Mercedez-Benz. To…
Hey guys! So I had the lovely opportunity to attend an exclusive preview the new Studio Collection at the H&M showroom in Cape Town. Unfortunately, I was unable to make the event, but I still made sure I got the scoop for you from the H&M PR team as to what you can expect from the collection.H&M STUDIO WOMENSWEAR AW17: URBAN SOPHISTICATION “This collection is all about tailoring, enhancing the female silhouette. While there are ultra-feminine details, we’ve combined them with street or punk influences for a hard-edged yet sophisticated result,” says Pernilla Wohlfahrt, H&M’s Head of Design and creative director. This range boasts a solid color palette. Black, white, navy, earthy hues, grey melagne and pops of Klein blue and burgundy. Ps: I know for sure those with a minimalistic aesthetic will be quite pleased with what’s in store for them. What I can personally say about this range is…
For the longest time, taking care of my hands hasn’t been at the top of the list of my priorities. I don’t seem to enjoy how any moisturizer, except for Vaseline, feels on my hands. However, of late I’ve been making a conscious effort to moisturize and care for my hands as I do for my face and feet. I mean, who wants crusty hands and feet anyway? Aside from looking crusty, the long term benefits of taking care of your hands by using a hand cream are definitely worth it. Our hands are our everything. Not an hour of the day goes by without us having to use our hands, and so this important tool deserves our attention. Our hands go through the absolute most, touching and handling all sorts of surfaces, shaking hands and getting in contact with harsh chemicals which have a harmful effect on our skin.…
I don’t think there’s ever been a crazier time to be a women in this world! The roaring inside of us, our strength, our compassion, our intellect and everything about ALL the women in us are being tested… in more ways than one. The woman who dares to strive for excellence ethically, without having to compromise who she is. The woman who is fierce enough to comfortably live in the skin she’s been blessed with but has to run through survival tactics everyday should harm come her way. The intelligent woman who finds value and meaning from being a homemaker but is faced daily with words thrown at her such as lazy or incapable. The woman who has to work multiple jobs and cross night to complete her studies. The woman who is beautiful enough to make it on a magazine but is of color and therefore her voice is invalid…
Hey lovers, Once again, the Summer season is creeping up on us. With only one month to go, the chatter around summer bodies is growing louder and wider! We all know the saying which goes “Summer bodies are made in winter,” so I hope you’ve been sowing that seed you wish to reap the rewards for in summer! However, I feel as though as society we’re slowly but surely moving away from working out for a certain season and are leaning more toward leading a healthy lifestyle all year round, and I’m pleased with this! Finding a work out routine which works uniquely for you is the best way to effectively see results, oh and of course help you keep up the consistency! And while others may prefer to go to a gym to work out, others- like myself- prefer work outs in the comfort of their own homes and…
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h_AW32Yl6ps&spfreload=5 Each and every one of us have a woman/women who have played a significantly large role in seeing us to being the young ladies we are today. We simply don’t tell them enough how grateful we are for their presence in our lives or can’t put together in words our gratitude for all the moments we witnessed and those which they worked tirelessly “behind the scenes” to ensure we are well taken care of. For me, that woman in undoubtedly my mother, Fiki Tsekiso. The older I get the more I am able to recognise as well as appreciate the woman that she is to not only my sister and I, but to the community at large. This selfless mbokodo of mine has been through her fair share of trials and tribulations but always comes out stronger and wiser. When I think back to the time when both my sister…
August being the month in which we celebrate women’s day, I’ve decided to collaborate with JIDEKA, a fashion label owned and run by a strong black woman by the name Pamela Ifeneme. Through our conversation, I could feel how genuine her love for fashion and how much she values expression through fashion. Here’s a short interview I conducted to get further intel on JIDEKA the brand, as well as the phenomenal woman behind it. In between all the action, I’ll be giving you a look into some of her pieces, one of them being the Nene Ruffle pants which I truly enjoyed. Black pants are an issential addition to anyone’s wardrobe, and it doesn’t hurt to play around with different designs. The ruffles from the knee down makes for unique feature to these snug fitting pants. [ Photographer: Simphiwe Mkhwanazi ] How did you come up with the name JIDEKA? My Ibu name…
I recently did a Sports Glam photoshoot with People Magazine which I absolutely loved! I embraced the fusion of my two loves – sports and fashion – and couldn’t have asked for a better shoot. I have been playing sports for as long as I can remember: from being the only girl on the field playing mini cricket at tournaments during primary school, right up to being Vice-Captain of the KZN touch rugby team. Sports has done so much in building my character – and being my “escape”. It saved me from getting into a whole lot of trouble and instilled in me such critical life values, and that is why I’ve decided to go all Sport on you for this blog post. In the new age South Africa, where we speak so proudly of our growth and economic transformation, we thus have the responsibility to grow, nurture as well…
