After all, we do have many more days on the calendar which the world of fashion can occupy – far beyond just the annual Fashion weeks which have established a solid footprint. On Thursday 15th of August, True Love Magazine in association with Mazda South Africa set out to host a “Night of Style” at The Galleria Conference and Events Venue in Sandton, South Africa. This is the second year of Night of Style, and this years installment featured the designs of Matte Nolim, Superdry, Rubicon, Loin Cloth & Ashes, RUFF TUNG, Polo, Ryan Keyes, JJ Schoeman, Orapeleng Modutle Style Avenue, La Art Nevoile Emporium and Gert-Johan Coetzee. I had the lovely opportunity of being exclusively invited to The Saxon for a one of a kind “fashion show” hosted by designer Gert-Johan Coetzee. With only 40 guests invited, we were treated to welcome drinks and eats before being ushered into an intimate auditorium where we were welcomed by the man of the moment himself. Gert went on to give us a brief introduction of his new range of quality handbags and how they’re each uniquely designed to embrace the different lifestyles of a GJC girl. Interesting fact: Gert has stopped using flat patterns and is now creating patterns with fabric which is the French way of doing things. “I really am proud of the quality of these bags and how durable they are, and of course how beautiful the color and rich the leather is.” After all was said and done, the moment had finally arrived… we had…
