I’ve been loving the growth of the beauty industry, and more especially the products on the market which cater to ethnic skin and hair. Amongst some of the best products out are those from Nguni Botanicals, formerly known as Afrilove Creations, catering to all your hair care, skin care as well as self care needs. With their most recent re-branding move, Nguni Botanicals is well on their way to creating a brand which is synonymous with self love. Below I have had the pleasure of filing you in on who and what Nguni Botanicals is all about, as well as where you can follow them to be a part of the journey and purchase their products. Who is Nguni Botanicals? Nguni Botanicals offers botanical solutions for ethnic hair, skin and self-care. Encouraged by her own natural hair experiences, self-love journey, and appreciation for holistic healing, Nonzuzo Mkhwanazi – the eldest…
Hey ladies – and gents 🙂 So, it’s that time of the year once again where it starts getting a lot warmer, signalling that I can get back to my bikini life. The melanin-rich skin becomes darker; the sea water feels warmer; life gets so much better. I mean, as a young African lady who grew up in various conservative environments, it has taken everything IN me to grow into being fully confident in my flaws (and all). With this in mind, I totally believe that I have reached my personal pinnacle when it comes to being confident in my femininity and the beautiful curvaceousness that it comes with. Firstly, I must acknowledge what a privilege it is to be living in an era that allows for limitless expression, enabled by the generous array of social media platforms. I recently posted one of my unedited takeouts from a photo-shoot where I was wearing swimwear on my Instagram page and had someone have a go at body-shaming me – apparently having the time of their life…
Don’t hold yourself back by doubting that which is invested in you, that which you have been assigned to. Be sure and confident, unapologetically so, of the vision which has been planted and rooted so deeply in you. Behind every door you will be dealt a different set of cards. Your job is simply to remain calm and make the best of the cards dealt. Celebrate your successes and be further motivated by your failures as well as the milestones reached. Reflections of the past can offer you greater perspective. Taking that time to reflect can help you map out the destination you wish to get to and figure out the little roads which will get you there. Live beyond your day-to-day feelings s, life beyond yourself !
Every lady needs a statement piece and Lovisa had just that ! Green , the color of life has always been such a rich and royal color while still earthy and effortlessly striking to the eye .
Take a silent moment to put everything into perspective. A moment to acknowledge what is required of you step by step to get to your ultimate goal(s) , because every next level of your life will demand a different , NEXT level of you. And remember, be faithful with the little you have been gifted with and you will be gifted with so much more.
Be very careful of the people you keep in your space as well as the conversations you allow into your space. As we all know we become products of our environments so easily, accepting and seeing our current positioning as the reality. As well, be assured that not everyone around you will understand your dreams and see the potential in you, not even those closest to you. It must surely be such a scary and emotional space to be in, alone with your dreams. When you believe so strongly in what you hold, a beautiful secret, a gift really to the world which you want to unleash . And for being gifted with this dream, such great responsibility is immediately placed on you. From wherever you are, do whatever you can to getting a step closer to your dreams. Platforms are all around us, for which you to build or…
Very few organisations nowadays have actual pure intent at putting out content which is positive, mutually beneficial and readily available to the youth and just the general public at large. To move us, to direct us and to actually affirm us in our potential. My days are filled with a large pool of content from various YouTube pages which I am subscribed to. For the longest time I have been following the Nedbank page and more specifically the Nedbank Talk For Success. I have loved the content which is put out, highly relatable, conversational and more importantly motivational. The latest posts which I have identified with are the part 1-7 by The Queen B herself, Bonang Matheba as well as Nandi Mngoma. More specifically, the 5th point is what stuck out for me in Bonang’s talk. The law of attraction, as was introduced and affirmed for me for the first…

I legit woke up with aches and pains from shooting in all these peculiar positions . So , guess who needs to get back to gym . I got a major wake up call from doing this shoot . Nothing is ever as easy as it looks . In all areas of ones life , effort is required. The amount of seed you sow will determine your harvest. Relationships , friendships , work , business all work the same. Constantly preparing yourself for that opportune moment is necessary and even more so if that is what puts food on your table for you and yours. I got home and took a silent moment to put everything into perspective , to acknowledge what is required of me step by step to get to my ultimate goal(s) . What ties I need to cut , what bad habits I need to work…
