As we wrap up the month of World Environment Day ( 5 June ) , I thought I should share my concern for the environment and that I am all for sustainable fashion. Did you know that the fashion industry is ranked as the worlds second biggest polluter after the petrochemical industry?! After doing some reading, I’ve come to learn that Stella McCartney is one of the designers who has been at the forefront of the green movement. Living green through her personal life and through the world of fashion. Although it has taken quite some time, Stella is one of the designers to have paved a way many others have since followed. Lacoste recently crafted 10 new polo shirts, replacing their iconic crocodile with 10 endangered species. H&M is another brand to have switched up their practices as seen in their seventh Conscious Exclusive collection, launched 19 April 2018.…
Look, one thing’s for sure. Not every single day of autumn is as chilly, and so why not ease up on the layers every now and again and throw on a long sleeved dress instead? This is one of my favorite finds I shopped at one of the most unassuming stores. I spotted it and instantly saw potential. When it comes to style, it’s quite a personal journey. So why not personalize some of your finds so that they transform into what you want them to be. How I wore it: I decided to wear the back of this dress as the front. I simply couldn’t let the detailing, which adds such lovely texture go unseen and to waste. Initially a button up situation, I opted for off the shoulder vibes on this one. I have also incorporated the faux fur from my leather jacket which you can wear as a faux fur shawl during the day, and re attach it back onto the jacket as it gets cooler in the day. The beret has once again found its way back into another one of my looks, and I think mainly because blonde vibes were the order of the day. I got this particular beret from my grandmother, so its a good 20 years old – love! You’re also probably wondering about these tiny vintage frames I’m wearing. This trend has…
Gone are the days where I shy away from bright and bold statement pieces. Instead, I’ve now learnt how to embrace them, work them MY way and pair them with staple pieces in my wardrobe to fit my personal style. I just want to journey with you through some of my looks for the H&M AW18 Campaign we shot in the mother city, Cape Town. As you may know, H&M’s new autumn/winter 18 collection is all about delicate dark florals, chunky knits and this season’s hottest denim looks. What I wore: My first look is very true to my personal style. Romantic, chic with a bit of an edge. I absolutely fell in love with this black faux fur at first sight. This floral blouse adds a romantic touch to the overall look and perfectly serves my aestethic and need to keep warm this season. My second look is definitely…
