Well , seeing as I don’t consume alcohol I find myself constantly faced with the same boring option of simply drinking soft drinks or Ice – tea ( my absolute favourite drink !! ) while everyone else’s drinks look so tropical . So, I have decided to share a recipe for a mocktail which I spotted from a Marieclaire publication. Oh, and just in case you didn’t know what a mocktail is, it’s simply a yummy non-alcoholic pretty version of the alcoholic cocktails (most of the time). What I absolutely loved about the recipe is that it contains ingredients which are easy to find and usually available around the house… and of course my favourite – ICED TEA!! INGREDIENTS 1/2 cup fresh mint leaves 3 green tea bags 2 tablespoons honey 4 cups boiling water 4 stalks lemongrass METHOD – Combine mint leaves, tea bags, honey and boiling water. –…
So once again , I grabbed the opportunity with both hands to explore my beautiful city in a way which I have never before. Redds Carnival , which is an outdoor event , was held for the second time this year on the Durban beachfront , and of course my friends and I took advantage of the themed party . We all dressed up carnival style and strutted all over the beach sand. The atmosphere was electric , with local carnival dancers as part of entertainment with their amazing floats on display . A great dining experience as well as sweet treats wrapped it all up before we enjoyed amazing performances by South Africa’s best music entertainers as the sun set. Looking forward to exploring my city even further this coming festive season .
As we enter the summer season and well pretty much the end of the year, I really need to take a moment to decide on a look and feel for summer. With this of course comes a hairs and Color change which will be best suited for the season as well as my character. I never ever decide on hairstyles according to how well they suite other people (well maybe I do if we have the same oval shaped long face). However , my main priority is ensuring that I can maintain the look with all the care it requires , ensuring that it will go well with my face shape , my skin tone as well as considering if it compliments my wardrobe. I have always enjoyed bob hairstyles and the amount of transformation the traditional bob has had over the years. I love my hair bouncy, well textured…
Why not find a large red door and start shooting , right ?! Aside from the wind trying to kill the fun , shooting this look was so much fun ! The moment I put this dress on It spoke to me the beautiful language of summer . I enjoy showing my collar bones and this wide neck did this so perfectly for me yet still not being over revealing . I often struggle with dresses because of my small waist . The zip detail on the side made sure the dress fit super snug for my waist and so that problem was instantly solved. Look , what’s not to love about this dress ? Dress it up for dinner with a pair of stilettos or dress it down by throwing on some suede boots as I have and a suede black hat for that pop of black from the dress.…
Since way back when, I have always loved fashion and what people call styling. When I was a little girl , finding material and sewing ( yes with a needle – rather dangerous ) clothes for my Barbie was my favourite pastime because I simply couldn’t stand my Barbie wearing the same clothes everyday . I mean, I even made underwear for her!! I grew up with the most stylish ” big sister” whom I have since decided to work with at putting together some cool looks. She goes by the name of Ndumi Matiwane and owns a store at 8 Morrison (Shop 11) called Mind over Matter. Our personal styles are quite different but I have been able to find my personal style somewhere in there because of how laid back the clothes are. I’m all about a laid back look which when worn in confidence transforms to something…
I thought to share some images of me experiencing being a bridesmaid for the first time ever. The best part was sharing this very unique moment with my beautiful friends.
For my curvy frame, my number one priority when selecting a piece to wear is to ensure that it highlights but not exaggerate my curves , as well as be able to provide enough support , cleavage and cover up in all the right areas. I tried on this monochrome monokini which instantly gave me a sexy look but still kept everything tidy and classy for me. The padded push-up effect of this particular piece offered extra lift , while the detachable straps were perfect for the halter effect which creates good cleavage . The white detail may simply be pretty detail for some , but I realised the contouring effect that it had on how my African booty looked. It made for the perfect amount of curve enhancement in all the right places. This is definitely a piece I felt comfortable prancing around in all day .
Take care of your skin as best you can without over exposing yourself to products which will be harmful to your skin in the long term . Learn what skin type you are and which product would be better suited specifically for you . What works for another may not necessarily work for you . My personal choice by default has always been to use Johnson’s products because I grew up using the Johnson’s baby Jelly .One day however ,my aunt made me aware to the fact that I should not take for granted that I have good skin and should start taking better care . I’ve since started using the Johnson’s oil balancing gel wash as well as the gentle exfoliation wash . I use the exfoliation was once a week although it is said to be safe to use daily . The gel wash I use day and…
